The District Superintendent, wanting to shield his students and staff from the media, banned all camera crews from filming on school property. Locals were shocked to show up at the school only to find crews from all the local TV outlets, TV Stations from throughout Texas and Oklahoma, and a crew from FOX NEWS CHANNEL all waiting to film and to attempt to interview any kids or staff they could get a hold of. Most locals were shocked at the reaction this story has drawn from around the country and the world as it is already well known that most citizens of this tiny town are already packing heat and have been doing so for years. You can’t buy and drive a pickup in Texas unless it matches your pistol holster!
Well, like I said, there was little fanfare and everything was going smoothly until……
The “Dr. Phil Show” showed up on the scene.
All chaos broke loose and the tiny town was thrust into frenzied anarchy. In rural Texas, a visit from Dr. Phil is given similar importance to a visit from the President of the United States, The Pope, or Billy Bob Thornton. They just don’t get much bigger than Dr. Phil down here! School officials tried calling in Police support to calm the hysterical crowd but like the Superintendent feared, it took officers over a half hour to reach the tiny town. In the mass hysteria, women and girls fainted right and left while men and boys pranced around proudly showing off their autographed cowboy hats and mud flaps that Dr. Phil had been kind enough to sign.
Dr. Phil walked to the top of the front steps of the school, smiled into the throng of cameras, and imparted another invaluable dose of wisdom onto the masses…
“Teachers of the world…..It’s time to arm yer asses up!! Shoot first, ask questions later!! God Bless the USA and the NRA!!”
The good folks of Harrold, Texas will always remember the day that the legendary Dr. Phil came to town! After Dr. Phil made his appearance, the staff and custodians of the school all stood on the school’s front steps and fired their guns into the air in unison as their lifesaving, advice dishing hero drove off via limo into the dusty North Texas afternoon.
