Music Flashback: Madonna

Madonna is an American Singer, Dancer, and Actress.

She is the most successful female recording artist in Music History.

Billboard Magazine rated Madonna as the #2 Musical Artist of All-time, second only to The Beatles.

She was born Madonna Ciccone in Bay City, Michigan in 1958.

She moved to New York City in 1977 and pursued a career as a Dancer.

Turning to music, she released her debut album, “Madonna” in 1983.

She has been a fixture on the Billboard Charts and on music charts around the globe ever since.

Her music videos were staples on MTV during the 80′s and 90′s. (Back when they still showed videos..)

The large number of hits she has had is amazing considering she has released only 11 Studio Albums in her career.

According to the Guinness Book of World Records, she is top selling female recording artist in history worldwide.

She has won 9 Grammy Awards during her career.

She was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall-of-Fame in 2008.

  2. No-Hio – I remember the same thing. When “Borderline” became a hit, I remember a Eugene, Or disc-jockey clearly stating that “this girl will never amount to anything….she can’t sing and she can’t dance…” Boy was he wrong…

  5. Brainrants – True….. she has managed to change her musical styles with the times and stay relevant…where most artists just fade away after a brief period of success…
