TV Flashback: Seinfeld

In my view, Seinfeld is the probably the funniest sitcom in the history of Television.

Seinfeld aired on NBC from 1990-1998.

The show was created by Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David. In the series, Seinfeld played a fictionalized version of himself, while the George Costanza character was modeled after many of Larry David’s “quirks”.

The show started out titled “The Seinfeld Chronicles”. It was later just shortened to “Seinfeld”.

The show starred:

Jerry Seinfeld – Jerry Seinfeld
Jason Alexander – George Costanza
Michael Richards – Cosmo Kramer
Julia Louis-Dreyfus – Elaine Benes
Wayne Knight – Newman

The show did not even crack the Top-30 of the Nielsen Ratings until its 3rd season.

The Character of Newman did not appear until the 3rd season, yet as far as recurring characters, he appeared in the most episodes of the series.

The show won 10 Emmy Awards and had 68 Emmy Award nominations during its 9 years on the air.

Michael Richards won 3 Emmy Awards for his role as Kramer.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus won 1 Emmy Award for her role as Elaine.

In the biggest crock of you-know-what in the history of the Emmy Awards, Jason Alexander never won an Emmy as George Costanza. What a joke! Simply put, George Costanza is one of the greatest sitcom characters in the history of Television and no one but Jason Alexander could have played him. Seinfeld ruled for years largely because of the George character. For Jason Alexander to never win an Emmy is just unbelievable! (He was nominated a bunch of times, he just never won…)

The show won an Emmy Award for Best Comedy just one time. (What were those Emmy voters smoking?)

The show has had such an impact on American Culture that many of its familiar catch-phrases are now woven into our everyday lives….

“Yada Yada Yada…”
“Shrinkage”
“No Soup for You!”
“You Put the Balm On? Who told you to put the balm on?”
“Giddee-up”
“Sponge-Worthy”
“Master of Your Domain”
“Anti-Dentite”
“Double Dip”
“Not That There’s Anything Wrong with That”
“Vandelay Industries”
“Re-Gifter”
“Man Hands”
“Serenity Now!!!”
“Festivus….the Holiday for the Rest of Us”
“The Sea was angry that day my friends”
“I don’t wanna be a Pirate!”
“Boy! These Pretzels are making me thirsty!”
“Soup Nazi”
“Sorry…the correct answer was MOOPS”
“I AM the Assman!”

“Maybe the Dingo ate your baby”

I could go on for hours listing the thousands more phrases that the show popularized over the years.

Jerry Seinfeld was the only cast member to appear in every episode.

TV GUIDE voted the show the #1 series of All-Time.

Danny Devito and Nathan Lane were among the many actors considered for the role of George Costanza.

(I have a T-shirt of this painting)

Tony Shalhoub and Larry Hankin were among those considered to play Kramer. Hankin later played the Kramer Character in the pilot that Jerry was shooting for NBC in the series. In that same pilot, Jeremy Piven (Entourage) played the George Character.

The Exterior shot of Jerry’s Apartment Building is actually a building in Los Angeles.

The show was #1 in the Nielsen Ratings during every week of its final season.

Among those that were considered for the role of Elaine were Rosie O’Donnell, Patricia Heaton, and Megan Mullally.

The “Puffy-Shirt” from the “Puffy-Shirt” episode is on display in the Smithsonian.

Director Steven Spielberg said that while filming “Schindler’s List” he would get so depressed that he would pop in tapes of Seinfeld to cheer himself up.

The series finale in May of 1998 was one of the most-watched shows in TV History. It is also one of the most debated episodes the show ever had. Many fans hated the finale (me among them..) while others loved it.

The Larry David sitcom “Curb Your Enthusiasm” on HBO recently did a much better job of wrapping up Seinfeld. In that show, David convinces the Seinfeld cast to do a reunion show, which they all agree to do. In that show, it turns out that George had invented an Application for the IPHONE called a “IToilet” which would allow you to easily find the closest public restroom to your current location. (Great idea!) George makes Millions as a result of his invention. He was also married at the time. While going through a messy divorce, his wife ends up being awarded half of George’s Millions. No problem right? Wrong. It turns out that George had invested his half of the money with Bernie Madoff, the convicted Ponzi-scheme criminal, and George loses everything. Now…..that was a real ending!

I know this blog is supposedly about lost treasures of the 1970′s and 1980′s….but Seinfeld is just too good to leave out!

George Costanza was the self-professed “Lord of the Idiots“. Out of reverence to George, and because I am also a proud Idiot, I have placed the word Idiot into almost every blog that I have ever created. I have had “Lord of the Idiots“, “The Idiot Speaketh“, “Flashbacks of an Idiot“, and even “My Idiot Photos“. Like I said, I AM an Idiot, but my use of the term in all my blogs is totally in homage to my Idiot Idol….George Costanza!

Responses

  1. It was the best series ever and the series WAS George!

  2. Yes, Seinfeld is a bit like British humor…you either get it, or you don’t. Husband never got it. My 20-something nephew gets it. I like the show, but I agree with you that the last episode was stupid.

  3. ‘The sea was angry that day my friends…’ was one of the all time greatest lines in TV comedy history. Seinfeld loved to poke fun at pretentious where ever they could be found.

    Like for example this comment.

  4. What?!?
    You’re a fan of “Seinfeld”?
    I never would’ve guessed…..

  5. Chris – You said it! :)

  6. Queen of the Courtroom – Yep, that last one was a real let down….. The finale on Curb Your Enthusiasm was much better :)

  7. Angus – I still think of that line when I get into the pool on a windy day….. :)

  8. No-hio – Amazing isn’t it? Who would have thought…… :)

  9. Perhaps the best show ever! The funniest, for sure. And George–George was incredible. I love the show! I don’t know that it will ever be topped.
    Kathy

  10. Kathy – I think you are right. I don’t know of another comedy on TV today that will have us reciting quotes twenty years from now like Seinfeld did….. Still a classic! :)

  11. The only other comedy sitcom I loved just as much as Seinfeld was Friends. Still do. Both shows are played nightly (one right after the other), and I tune in every night. :) In addition, we have “The Kramer” hanging (framed & all) in our recroom. If that doesn’t show our love for the show, not sure what would. :)

  12. Blonde Cousin – I need to get a huge full-length “George” straddling the couch in his underwear for this computer room….. it would give the room some much needed class :)

  13. Always loved Sienfield, although sometimes George made me cringe, he really did. You never do!

  14. Robyn – Thanks….though my wife is in the background yelling “HE MAKES ME CRINGE!!!” :)

  15. I LOVE THIS SHIT !

  16. Dont you think you’re popular enough? Now you go and take up a Freshly Pressed spot! Jeez…haha!

  17. “Master of your domain.” Best. Euphemism. EVER!!!
    :)

  18. Great post. I enjoyed the show too, but cannot recall the finale… why was it so bad? On another note, I need to rent A Fish Called Wanda. It’s been a while.

  19. Jason Alexander was arguably the best character on the show. I am surprised as well that he never won an Emmy. And you are absolutely right – many of the Seinfeld quotes are well woven into American culture.

  20. Seinfeld re-runs still make me laugh out loud!

  21. My boyfriend loves this show! We actually went to see Jerry Seinfeld perform live because he is still in love with him and the show! lol I have yet to see the show but I promise I will watch it by the end of the year, I promise! Ohh! And we have the Seinfeld monopoly lol

  22. oh jerry I don’t know sometimes…. nice post

  23. Great post! I hated the season finale at the time, but in the um 10 years since I can now really appreciate it. Although…I wanted Jerry and Elaine to be in love. I admit it!

  24. Well spoken and great look back at the greatest sitcom (in my opinion, as well) ever.

  25. Mark, you’ve been Freshly Pressed, my friend! I’m so, so happy for your! Congratulations! Seinfeld rules!!!!! And so does the Idiot!
    Kathy

  26. This is a great post! Seinfeld is my absolute favorite tv show of all time and I watch it every night on TBS. And, I agree with you about the finale, it was not good.

  27. You did it again!! Congratulations, this is a great one Maaaaaaaahhhhhhhk!

  28. Jim – I didn’t mean to……honest :)

  29. Mikalee – I agree :)

  30. Simplelife – The Seinfeld finale was just kind of a letdown in comparison to the rest of the show. Hard to explain why. They brought back alot of the most famous characters from the show but I just kind of fell flat. I liked the outcome on Curb your Enthusiasm much better. :)

  31. I absolutely love this show! My heart will always belong to Georgie Costanza! :)

  32. Ajay – The fact that Jason never won is truly a crime….

  33. Paprika – Yep, whenever you are having a bad day, those reruns are bound to cheer anyone up :)

  34. Mariajose – Seinfeld Monopoly? That sounds cool! :)

  35. Natasiarose – I think that they always were in love…they were just too dumb to realize it…… :)

  36. Renovate – It is my favorite by far :)

  37. :) I Love Seinfeld! Still watch it whenever it shows on tv or on my DVDs. I always crack up when I hear Larry David’s voice over of Steinbrenner.
    Great post!!

  38. Kathy – It freaked me out!…..I came in and pulled up my blog and saw my hits had gone ballistic……. then I thought….. “Oh no….not again…….. I’m gonna need a bigger tent for the Harem….” :)

  39. Secretsofmommyhood – Yes, great show……finale not so great……. Did you see the Curb your Enthusiasm reunion? :)

  40. Bicycle Girl – I’m gonna need a bigger World Headquarters building now…… :)

  41. Gothichydran126 – Thanks much :)

  42. Kat – Yes, George is one of the greatest characters in TV History :)

  43. Seinfeld rules! Not a day goes by without someone in our house popping off a line or two. Usually it’s me yelling at the top of my lungs “SERENITY NOW!!!”

  44. Fourth picture, hilarious!!

  45. Savvy sister – I scream that too :)

  46. http://ashleyjillian.com/2011/09/13/five-ways-to-get-your-humor-post-freshly-pressed/

  47. You will need to invade a medium-sized country for what you’re going to end up with. Amazing! You can train the army to shout, “Oh no, not again” at any sign of conflict. And yes, you’re gonna need a bigger harem tent :)

  48. The characters and the stories still hold up on repeated viewings.

    “The show is about nothing.”

    “I think you have something!”

  49. just simply: I would still watch it!

  50. This post is so funny.

  51. I liked Seinfeld. One thing about that show is that it did a lot to change the sitcom. The characters stayed the same. No one learned from their mistakes. In almost every episode, people lost in the end. There were no sentimental moments in the show. Not even the finale. Great show.

  52. It cracked me up so much.

  53. [...] As I was exploring the WordPress website, I discovered a blog all about the show Seinfeld (http://redriverpak.wordpress.com/2011/09/09/tv-flashback-seinfeld/).  I thoroughly enjoyed reading the article.  In my opinion, most blogs are very visually [...]

  54. Great post about a great show. Can’t believe Jason Alexander never won an Emmy. Just validates my opinion of “critics” even more. Congrats on FP. Well deserved. Love the site.

  55. Bicycle Girl – Do you think that Target’s website would have large Harem tents? I have a coupon….. :)

  56. “Does the tape say you’re suppose to YELL it?”

My boyfriend and I fall asleep to Seinfeld every night and are constantly quoting the show in every day conversation (which confuses other people). Even though we have seen every episode 100 times (at least), we still catch things that crack us up. My favorite episode is “The Burning” in which Elaine steals Putty’s Jesus fish off the back of his car. Coincidentally, someone stole the Darwin fish off of the back of my car a couple of months ago.

Excellent post. Congrats on being FP!

  57. BIGGEST Seinfeld fan ever! I have all of the DVD’s and still watch them endlessly and could probably recite every line from every episode there was haha. It’s one show that will most definitely stand the test of time. Thanks so much for paying omage to this amazing show.

P.S. I have ‘The Kramer’ poster and t-shirt myself ;)

  58. One of the few shows that I can’t help but watch at least a few minutes of everytime I see it on!

  59. Amen to that!

  60. These pretzels are making me thirsty.

And you want to be my latex salesman…

  61. Even though I miss “Must-See TV” Thursdays… Friends followed by Seinfeld… I applaud Jerry & co bowing out at the top. A true classic.

  62. Seinfeld is great in more than one way! I became a fan quite recently. Maybe you’re interested in a post I made about the series:
    http://erikbuys.wordpress.com/2011/05/07/shakespeare-musta-loved-seinfeld/

    Great work! Thanks!

  63. Nice post! Seinfeld is still one of my favorite shows today, and I have seen every episode more times than I can count.

Loved the finale, too, and the excellent reunion storyline on CYE. The show can do no wrong in my book. :)

  64. Oh, how I loved reading this–my fave all-time show as well. I have to admit I didn’t like the finale much, it was such a let down.

I remember when it was The Seinfeld Chronicles and my father was telling me how hilarious it was and he predicted it would be a huge hit. Good memories! Congrats on being FP!

  65. That was the best show.. It’s too bad they ended the way they did. But George was way funny…

  66. great post!

    -grace

  67. Love Seinfeld, and especially George.

  68. Congrats on being freshly pressed! Love Seinfeld.

    ~FringeGirl

  69. I’ve always preferred Curb over Seinfeld. I didn’t watch much Seinfeld until the last few months so maybe it’s the mom-pants that every girl Jerry seem to be dating wears that turned me off. Still, I found some of it enjoyable, mostly the writing of how it all connected.

  70. and I can say- I knew you when!

  71. IDIOT! CONGRATS ON FRESHLY PRESSED! I am so proud of you!

  72. i grew up on this lol

  73. WOOHOO! Freshly Pressed and In the Juice, there Big Bro! Good JOB!

  74. haha! george and kramer make me go laughing the whole time!

  75. I’ve never seen another show stay funny for half as long as Seinfeld did. It’s a masterpiece of comedy. So many phrases in my repertoire, I don’t even realise I’m constantly homageing Seinfeld. There IS no BIG coincidence… ahhh I’m going to watch a couple of episodes now!

  76. I would agree. This show is the best of all-time.

  77. Love Seinfeld! Have you ever noticed that people who like The Office don’t like Seinfeld? What’s wrong with these people?!?!

  78. Loved, loved, loved. LOVED your tribute to my favorite TV Series ever! Thank you so much for that! :)

  79. aparis13 – I loved that episode…… I love putty’s reaction to Elaine “Why should I worry? I’m not the one going to Hell…”…….. :) That still cracks me up!

  80. thisthatandtheotherthang- I really need to find a poster of the George on the Couch…….. :)

  81. She’s a Maineiac – Your Father is a smart man! Thank goodness the folks at NBC did not axe it during those early years… :)

  82. Mooselicker – I am a huge Curb fan as well….. In fact, I think this season is one of the best yet. Larry in New York is comic gold…. :)

  83. Mafia Princess – You’re gonna need to hire you an Assistant Chief of Harem Security…… You’re about to be swamped with new arrivals….. :)

  84. Rugby Queen – Thanks T! :)

  85. Tabitha – In the juice? There was juice? I think I missed the juice? No one told me about the juice….. drat!! :)

  86. Saxon Davis – I love The Office too :) Even the British original was a riot …

  87. Grace – Thanks Grace… Have a great day :)

  88. bohemianprose – George is the man! :)

  89. I love Seinfeld, yada yada yada.
    The BEST series, ever.

  90. I think I was the only person in America that just didn’t see what everyone else saw. Oh well, my loss!

  91. My all time favourite show! Definitely the best series ever. I think I use “Serenity Now!” in my every day vocabulary. Congratulations on being Freshly Pressed.

  92. Master of your Domain Idiot! I am soooooooo proud of you, it brought tears to my eyes! So back to that whole bigger office so I can conduct offical Idiot personnel business? :-)

  93. I know exactly where you are coming from! This show is so laid-back and light-hearted that it always leaves me in a good mood. It’s one of the rare tv shows that I do not mind watching over and over again. The best part was that a lot of it was clean humor. Shows that there was real creativity coming from the creators. Elaine was by far my favorite character. The VanWick? Remember that?! So funny. It had my sides hurting. I plan on buying all the seasons in the future — it’s a comedic investment no one can regret.

  94. Misss Viiitttooooo – We really need to look for an office TOWER now…….. you can have your own floor….. Jamie can have her own…… etc. I’m thinking of putting the office down in the Cayman Islands for tax purposes….what do you think? :)

  95. Flowers – Thank you very much :)

  96. Victorytragedy – Elaine was one of the great female TV characters of all-time :)

  97. Sure, yeah, right. Just cause I’m a GUY, you forget all about ME! Sure, just go off with your new Harem members, I’ll just sit here in the corner, all by myself…. (sniff! sob!)

  98. I agree, definitely one of the best series ever. Great post….really enjoyed re-living some great memories.

  99. I’m fan ….. I always saw when I lived in Brazil !! :)

    Marcos

  100. I am so glad this made Freshly Pressed! Thank you so much for this post. Seinfeld remains my all-time favorite TV show, and this brought back many good memories. Hahaha! Fantastic.

  101. No-Hio – There is room for some guys in the harem…. You see those 5 chairs over there in the back of the tent? That’s the kids area….. the guys chairs are behind them…… :)

  102. I actually invested in every season out on DVD and I rarely buy TV programming. I was so upset with the ending, I can remember sitting there thinking it had to be a bad joke. It was my all time favorite with my second favorite going to Frasier. Terrific post.

  103. Newsy1 – I loved Frasier as well! Another great classic that I really miss. :)

  104. George and Kramer made that show, sucks what happened to Kramer..

  105. Seinfeld is monumetal! I can relate any real life situation to an episode of Seinfeld! This is a great homage!

  106. Seinfeld is probably one of my favorite shows ever, there is rarely a day that goes by when I don’t make a reference to it (if the people around me understand it, well now that’s a different story!). Totally agree that it is ridiculous that Jason Alexander didn’t win an emmy as George, he was clearly the best actor on the show.

  107. I saw one of the episodes a while ago. I might want to see the whole thing now after reading this

  108. Emilia – I think we need to change the national language to Seinfeld Speak…. Wouldn’t that be cool? :)

  109. nathanschurch1996 – You can’t go wrong renting or buying each season….. guaranteed laughs in every episode :)

  110. You forgot the line where Kramer had the kavorka ”the lure of the animal” I think one of the funniest episodes

  111. Thank you for that great article. Im a big fan of the show and there were a few things in there I read for the first time.

    Again great job.

To get technical. The show actually premiered in ’89. So, that would fit in with your 70′s & 80′s stuff.

On a side note, How much love do you have for WKRP in Cincinnati? IMO that show was an instant classic. and the cast was as good or better than most so called “Hit” shows. It just wasnt given its due.

  112. the show is still watchable 20 years later

  113. seinfeld what a classic.

  114. I was elementary/middle school when the bulk of the show ran, but would watch it every Thursday anyway. Thought, admittedly, I didn’t get a lot of the more “adult” jokes (Sponge-worthy!). Then came TV on DVD. In addition to being one of the most successful TV shows, it has become one of the highest selling TV on DVD and even won an award. I’ve watched the run of the show from start to finish at least 3 times (I know, get a life) and will always grab a disc when I have a bad day and need to laugh.
Excellent post! How could anyone not like this show?
    -Holly CS

  115. Congrats on being Freshly Pressed Again! You’re going to need an assistant soon :)

  116. Love, Love, Love…the BEST show ever! Unbelievable that Jason never won an Emmy. PS – “The Kramer” is amongst several framed prints that proudly hang in our finished basement. HA! =)

  117. This was the most hilarious show ever!

  118. Hurray for you, King of FP, and for this great trip down Memory Lane. I had never watched Seinfeld until it came out in reruns and I quickly got hooked.

  119. Ahhh… this does bring back memories….

  120. These pretzels are making me thirsty!

  121. I’ve been dying to re-watch all of the Seinfeld episodes. I may just break down and buy it one of these days.

  122. Brain Stew – I was a huge WKRP fan as well…. I profiled them earlier. There should be a link over on the right hand side of my blog page. :)

  123. Thypolar – Thanks J! :)

  124. Tornadowarnings – If I was Michael Richards…I would have that painting adorning the whole length of the bottom of my swimming pool…… :)

  125. Renee – Better late than never. At least you are hooked now :)

  126. The episode with the golf ball & the whale will always be one of the funniest things I have ever seen.

  127. Aixelsyd13 – “The sea was angry that day my friends……. “

  128. “Hole in one!”

  129. Aixelsyd13 – “Was it a titleist?”

  130. George was my favorite! Hunny wants to find a copy of the picture of George in his undies and hang it up in our apartment. We got him the Kramer shirt from Target instead. People always comment on it.

  131. Politeandparanoid – If you find that George shirt anywhere, please let know…. I would kill to have one to wear around :)

  132. I like to think about how many episodes of have plot lines that wouldn’t work just a few years later when cell phones became standard. There’s a blog, if I was motivated. :)

  133. Can anyone tell me what Kramer actually did for a living?

  134. This is the most awesome thing ever… Entertainment rules!

  135. I just got done watching “The Handicap Spot” episode of Seinfeld. Truly one of the greatest shows of all time. Alexander never winning an Emmy really is nuts.

  136. I enjoyed your blog. But now I feel old.

  137. This show seems timeless. My 14 year-old sons loves it as much as I do!
    Great blog!

  138. Loved Seinfeld after I got hip to it in its third or fourth season and stil watch the old ones on my VHS tapes. My favorite has to be the first time Elaine “danced’ at the party. Too bac Michael richards stained the rep with his racist on-stage rant a few years ago. As a native New Yorker who went to schoo with a lot of Jewish kids in Queens, I really “got” Seinfeld. LOL

  139. full of great inspiration

  140. I agree, Seinfeld is the funniest sitcom series ever. I’ve caught reruns hundreds of times, never to be bored by it.
Watching George Costanza mope around was in itself laughter inducing.

  141. Seinfeld is my life.

  142. One of my favorite shows. nice profile of it.

  143. I too love the show, still watch them on DVD. I loved the whole Costanza family, so funny especially Estelle.

  144. i love seinfeld and i am baffled why others do not share my love of the show. it is seriously funny! i always found it more realistic about things people actually talked about and the characters helped to illustrate that- they weren’t fabulously wealthy or stunningly attractive people. i loved that i could relate to them; they were average people that made the every day something amusing and great to talk about, etc. for example, friends just irked me- i was like- yeah sure, that apartment in that city and all the pretty people- sure, whatever. also the ross & rachel thing got old fast for me. anyway, seinfeld rocks and thanks for this post :)

btw, i also liked how george wanted to be the architect- art vandelay…

  145. “who makes copies?” – one of my favourite Jerry lines. Great blog post for a great show. :)

  146. OMG! Seinfeld!

I used to watch the shows on TV all the time. It was my favorite sitcom and I consider the shows to be even funnier and more entertaining than Friends.

My favorite antagonist was the Soup Nazi. There’s this part where Elaine kept drumming her fingers on the metal top, greatly annoying the chef. Cracked me up when the Soup Nazi said “No soup for you!”

I used to do the Kramer-slide whenever my friend invited me over to his place. He never watched Seinfeld (yeah I know, but it’s true) so he never did understand why I can’t walk normally into his apartment like other people.

Oh yeah, speaking of the Soup Nazi episode, I would recommend it to those people who want to know the George Costanza character. When I was watching him ask for his bread at the counter, I kept thinking loudly “WHY DO YOU KEEP DOING THIS TO YOURSELF?”

Oh yeah, their run-in with real life Nazis was also another favorite episode of mine.

Good show. Good days. The good old days.

The Disney sitcoms they produce nowadays have got nothing on the classics like Seinfeld!

  147. I recently re-watched the whole ten series again – took about three months! Still loved every second of it though.

  148. I was actually watching Seinfeld as I saw this blog post.. I am watching all the episodes all over again and loving it!

  149. CONGRATS ON BEING FRESHLY PRESSED! THE SOUP NAZI WAS MY FAVORITE EPISODE. NO SOUP FOR YOU!

  150. My family has a motto: All things in life can be related to Seinfeld, and it has never failed us. It is the best show ever aired and the basis for all other sitcoms that have come after it.

  151. You forgot the quote “Maybe the dingo ate your baby!” Loved that episode!!

  152. I love Seinfeld! I watch all the reruns whenever I can. Great post–I learned a lot of facts about the show I hadn’t known.

  153. “Simply put, George Costanza is one of the greatest sitcom characters in the history of Television” ~ I could not agree with this statement more! The fact that Jason Alexander never won an Emmy is preposterous!

    SERENITY NOW!!

As a die-hard Seinfeld and Curb fan, I thank you for this post, friend! :)

  154. Nikitaland – Step aside! :)

  155. K. Bromley – You are correct…. I’ll have to add that one in pronto…. :)

  156. I didn’t watch Seinfeld during its heyday, but now I watch reruns. Last nite’s ep was about Kramer (MY hero) being taken for a “mentally challenged” person. Only Seinfeld could make this subject really and truly funny without offending everyone. It was hilarious. It’s a great show.

  157. Seinfeld and now Curb are the best two shows about nothing!!!! thanks for the post!!!

  158. Love this show and Curb. I still watch reruns whenever they’re on

  159. Oh my Gosh Idiot, look at you go. Global domination is imminent. :)

  160. Mairzeebp – I need someone to design a flag for the Idiot Nation…… :)

  161. These pretzels are making me thirsty.

  162. Hoooollly coooow……… So THIS is what happens when you are freshly pressed? hahaha… Very cool.

Well……. just to add another comment (cuz I posted back before this blog went “Hollywood”), Don is a Seinfeld fanatic! Every night when the show comes on, no matter what episode it is…… Don will get all excited, like a giddy lil’ girl, & will state, “Oh! THIS episode is the BEST episode.” And he’s serious! I just roll my eyes and remind him he says that every time the show comes on. And he’ll say, “No really, it IS!”

    Go Seinfeld! :)

  163. Seinfeld is the best! I will be a fan!

  164. Blonde Cousin – I remember Don’s Seinfeld obsession well…… walking through the dusty streets of Bolivia…..with him screaming in his Frank Costanza voice… “You wanna piece of me??? You wanna piece of me????”……. it was quite disturbing actually…… :)

  165. The GREATEST TV show EVER!!!!

  166. It always seemed to me that George had all the big stories on Seinfeld and the show was more about him than Jerry. What big stories did Jerry have? Writing the pilot? George had that and living with his parents and getting married and working for the Yankees.

  167. wow I really miss this show a lot!

  168. Yay! your featured today!!!!!!!!! AWESOME!

  169. I forgot to say congratulations on your blog being featured at Freshly pressed.

  175. Seinfeld really was one great television show!
Congratulations on being Freshly Pressed! :)

  176. My favorite Seinfeld moment is when George records his answering machine to himself singing, “Believe it or not, George isn’t at home…” Classic! HaHa
