Don Henley is an American Singer, Songwriter, Drummer, and Musician. He is best known as a longtime member the group “The Eagles” although he has had a highly successful Solo career aside from that group.
Don Henley was born in 1947 in Gilmer, Tx.
This post will only cover his Solo Career.
He released his first Solo Album in 1982 and has gone on to record a total of 4 Studio Albums.
To date, he has charted 8 singles on the Billboard Top-40 Charts.
He has charted a total of 19 singles into the Top-40 of the Billboard Rock Charts in his career.
His many classic singles include:
Dirty Laundry
The Boys of Summer
All She Wants to do is Dance
Sunset Grill
End of the Innocence
New York Minute
The Heart of the Matter
The Last Worthless Evening
Not Enough Love in the World
To date, his most successful single has been “Dirty Laundry” which hit #3 on the Billboard Charts in 1982.
Four of his singles have hit #1 on the Billboard Rock Charts.
He has sang numerous duets with other artists that have cracked the Billboard Charts, including “Leather and Lace” (With Stevie Nicks), “Walkaway Joe” (With Trisha Yearwood), and “Sometimes Love Just Aint Enough” (With Patty Smyth)
During the course of his solo career, he has won a total of 7 Grammy Awards.
During the early 1980′s, he was romantically involved with Singer Stevie Nicks. Imagine the musical genes their kids would have inherited…..
He continues to record and perform, both with The Eagles, and as a Solo artist.

I think Henley did an appearance or two on “Miami Vice”, just like Glenn Frey. And “Dirty Laundry” could’ve been written for Fox News, right down to “Got the bubble-headed bleached blond/Comes on at 5/She can tell you about the plane crash/With a gleam in her eye”.
Sounds an awful lot like Megyn Kelly (I think that’s her name)…..

Oh lord! I read this earlier today and was so excited I couldn’t comment! I LOVE DON HENLEY! Love him love. him love him…I have a CD of his in my car and play it daily…I know every word to every song….I saw him with the eAgles a couple of years ago in Toronto and while they have aged better than say The Stones my dreams were dashed a bit as Irealized he is starting to look like Regis Philbin but I am over that shock and now just think of him younger…he is so…I guess I am still too excited to comment……

Huge Henley fan. Never tire of his social commentary (Dirty Laundry). Never tire of his love songs. In fact, I think I’ve got all his lyrics on the bigger hits nailed. Dates me solidly, but who cares? He lives permanently on my first generation click-wheel iPod…classics rock.

I absolutely love Don Henley. One of my favorite voices. I agree with John, “Dirty Laundry” would be perfect theme for Fox News.

Maineiac – Maybe we should start a write-in campaign…… of course, they would only accuse us of being communists….. or worse….LIBERALS…..

I was doing research in an old dusty library one night, and I discovered, according to the sage Mojo Nixon, that Don Henley must die. In addition, he must not be allowed to get back together with Glenn Frey. I know you can never look back, but this was the last worthless evening that I’d have to spend there.

Oh be still my beating heart. I saw him in concert several years ago and it was worth every minute!

Edward – Sounds like that would make a great ballad……. but have Timothy B. Schmitt sing it
