Yet another All-Time comedy classic from the Monty Python Troupe.

Monty Python’s Life of Brian was released in 1979.

The Film was directed by Python member Terry Jones.

The Film details the adventures of a young Jewish Man, Brian Cohen, who is born on the same day as Jesus, right next door in fact, and is mistaken by some for the Messiah.

The film was criticized by many religious groups upon it’s release and was even banned in some countries.

The filmmakers made light of this on some of the early Movie Posters which included the tag “So funny it was banned in Norway!“.

The film was made largely due to the financial backing of Ex-Beatle George Harrison, who was a huge Monty Python fan. Harrison also had a small role in the film.

The movie was filmed in Tunisia in 1978.

Made for $4 Million, the film went on to gross over $20 Million in theaters, despite the controversy it raised.

The film appears on many lists of the greatest film comedies of All-Time.
