One of my favorite 80′s flicks!
The movie that launched Eddie Murphy to movie stardom.
48 Hrs is a 1982 Action Comedy starring Eddie Murphy and Nick Nolte.
At the time of production, Eddie Murphy was a breakout star on “Saturday Night Live“. 48 Hrs would be his first film role.
Eddie Murphy was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for his role in the film.
The original plan was for the film to star Clint Eastwood and Richard Pryor.
Others considered for the film included Mickey Rourke, Jeff Bridges, Kris Kristofferson, Gregory Hines, and Denzel Washington.
According to Nick Nolte, much of the dialogue between he and Murphy’s characters was improvised.
Eddie Murphy would next go on to appear in the comedy “Trading Places“.
Eddie Murphy remains one of the most successful actors in Hollywood.
He is due to host the Academy Awards in 2012.
Nick Nolte would go on to appear in numerous films in the 80′s and 90′s….and would eventually end up with one of the classic mug shot booking photos in Police History.

That mugshot will be tough to top.
