Billy Idol is an English Singer who enjoyed a great deal of success through much of the 1980′s and early 1990′s.
He was born William Michael Albert Broad in 1955 in Middlesex, England.
He started in 1976 in the world of Punk Rock as a member of the band that would eventually go on to be called Siouxsie and the Banshees. He also was with the band Chelsea in 1977 as a Guitarist. In 1978, he left that group and formed the band “Generation X“, switching from guitarist to lead singer in the process.
“Generation X” subsequently released 3 albums in the next few years.
In 1981, Billy Idol moved to New York to pursue a solo career.
His first solo effort, an EP called “Don’t Stop“, was released in 1981.
He achieved great success with the studio album “Billy Idol” which was released in 1982.
He became a staple on MTV with videos for the hits “White Wedding” and “Dancing with Myself“.
He has released 9 Studio Albums and EP’s in his career, along with some Greatest Hits collections.
He has been nominated for 3 Grammy Awards.

Billy Idol is still active in the world of music at age 55 and continues to tour the world performing his many hits.

I hate Billy Idol! Who the hell suggested that you do a bit on…. oh wait…. I love Billy Idol! Rebel Yell album! I listen to that while I cut the grass in the dark, because in the midnight hour, she cried “Mow, mow mow.”
