One of the underrated rockers of the 1980′s.
Billy Squier is an American Rock Singer and Musician who had a great deal of success in the early and mid 1980′s.
He released his debut album in 1980.
The release of the 1981 Album “Don’t say no” rocketed him to stardom and made him a video staple on the fledgling MTV network.
His hits have included:
The Stroke
My Kind of Lover
In the Dark
Lonely is the Night
Everybody wants you
Emotions in Motion
Rock me Tonite
All Night Long
Don’t say you love me
Tied Up
and many more…
“Rock me Tonite” and “Everybody Want’s You” both reached #1 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Charts.
“Rock Me Tonite” featured a music video that had Squier dancing around a bedroom in a pink tank top. The video was widely considered one of the worst videos of the MTV era and Squier himself blamed that video on the sudden decline in his popularity through the remainder of the 1980′s.
Billy Squier has released 9 studio albums over the course of his career.
His most recent studio album was released in 1998 and his most recent tour was in 2009.
Now 61yrs old, he currently lives in New York City.

I can think of VERY few videos worse than the David Bowie/Mick Jagger duet of “Dancing In The Streets”. Hideous!
